Strahlkraft has been consistently researching the application of radial dynamic pressure sliding bearings (commonly known as "liquid metal bearings") in CT tube scenarios, with 5 years of accumulating effort. Based on the previous generation of traditional liquid metal servicing as lubricating medium, Strahlkraft has successfully introduced self-developed “Adsorptor” liquid metal bearings into TrueRay 500+ (a 5-mega anode heat capacity CT tube). Owing to a new ingredient of liquid metal, reinforced anti-infiltration coating, and optimized spiral shallow groove width to depth ratio, the overall stability of bearing is significantly improved and the probability of failure is reduced.
Thermal conductivity

On the basis of traditional gallium-based liquid metal , add Vb group elements, which reduces the energy barrier at the phase boundary of new liquid metal, making free electrons more active than the original one, and conducting heat quickly, increasing the thermal conductivity from 16.5 W/m·K^-1 to 25 W/m·K^-1.

Anti-infiltration

With the aid of new techniques, the anti-infiltration coating seamlessly fit the molybdenum made bearing bush, which reduces the risk of corrosion caused by peeling.

Adsorption Effect

Owing to new ingredient of liquid metal can achieve better contact angle (commonly known as "infiltration angle"), which leads to strong circumferential adsorption effect. Comparing to traditional liquid metal bearings, the distribution of oil film thickness become more uniform, which reduces the probability of bearing "lock up" caused by oil film fracture.

Bearing Capacity

By means of adjusting the width to depth ratio of the spiral shallow groove, it makes the pump pressure effect more outstanding and the bearing capacity significantly improved, which lays substantial foundation for the future.
